Letsatsi Acute Recovery Centre

A safe place for healing, protection and a second chance

Every child deserves to feel safe, protected and deeply cared for.

At Bana Ba Letsatsi, we work with children whose lives have been marked by neglect, abuse, abandonment, trauma and extreme vulnerability. Many of the children who come to us are carrying emotional wounds no child should ever have to bear. Some need urgent protection. Some need time and space to heal. Some simply need a safe place to sleep, recover and begin again.

That is why we are building the Letsatsi Acute Recovery Centre (ARC).

The Letsatsi ARC will be a dedicated safe accommodation and psycho-social recovery centre for vulnerable children in crisis. It will provide temporary residential care for children who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or are in unsafe home environments, while also offering the therapeutic support they need to heal emotionally and rebuild their lives with dignity.

This centre will include:

• safe accommodation for 30 children

• counselling and therapy rooms

• art and activity spaces for healing and emotional expression

• a nurturing, child-friendly environment with 24-hour care and protection

For many of the children we serve, this centre will mean the difference between remaining in danger and finding safety. It will mean the difference between trauma with no support and trauma met with care, counselling and hope.

Our Goal

The total cost of the Letsatsi ARC is BWP 7.25 million (approximately $500,000 USD).

We are incredibly grateful that $100,000 USD has already been raised toward this dream.

We are now seeking to raise the remaining $400,000 USD to bring the Letsatsi ARC to life.

The cost of sponsoring one square metre is USD 750 or BWP 9,500.
